Student Art Show 2015
MY FAVORITE PLACE
April 1 - May 19, 2015
Awards Reception Sunday, April 19, 2015 1-3pm

The challenge is for Carroll County K-12 students. Students may live in or attend a Carroll County School. All artwork must be original and must be completed by the student’s hand. This year students will be asked to share their favorite place. It can be a physical place such as their home, room, or vacation spot. It can be real or made-up and can include family, friends, or animals. It is open to student’s discretion as long as it can be titled “My Favorite Place”. Students may be able to compete within their grade level and will be eligible for prize money and ribbons at the discretion of the judges.

GUIDELINES

  1. All artwork must be submitted by Friday, March 27, 2015, 4 pm at the Carroll County Arts Center. Artwork received after this date may be shown but will not be included in the judging. Each student may submit one original piece of artwork that was com-pleted during the current school year. Please do not enter copy work or trade mark visuals such as ‘Disney’ or other characters. Please enter only ORIGINAL work.
  2. Each student must complete a Student Registration Form and attach it to the back-side of the artwork. The form is provided at the bottom of this page. Please do not put student name on the front of the artwork. Each student must have their parent or guardian approval. Entries without this approval will not be accepted.
  3. Artwork must be preferably, no larger than 18”x 24” and may be rendered on any type of surface .using any type of medium. Please mount matted work on cardboard or foam core with a secure wire attached for hanging. Stretched canvas must have wires attached for hanging. Three dimensional work will be accepted as well, Computer generated work or photography will not be accepted
  4. There is no entry fee charged.
  5. Artwork must remain for the duration of the show till May 18, and must be claimed during the week following the show, May 18-22. Artwork unclaimed after 30 days will become the property of CC Arts to donate or dispose of at their discretion.
  6. CC Arts reserves the right to photograph student artwork for the purpose of advertis-ing or promotional needs.

JUDGING

CREATIVITY—Original thinking and expressive artistic perceptions.
COMPOSITION—Unique way of solving artistic problems. It illustrates the student’s understanding of and ability to interpret the elements of art and principles of design.
TECHNIQUE—Proper usage of medium to achieve the desired outcome.
ORGINALITY—Completed solely by the student and original in design.

The Awards Reception will be held at the Carroll Coun-ty Arts Center.

K-12 Grade Awards will be presented at 2:00pm.

Please plan to join us and enjoy the original artwork, creative artists, and refresh-ments. It is hoped that all artists will be in attendance. Students receiving awards will have their pictures taken for the local newspapers.
